Description
The farm building at Gweinion is a Grade II listed structure built from roughly coursed rubble stonework, featuring larger stones at the bottom, and topped with a slate roof. The building consists of a three-bay barn at the northern end and a single bay that is likely a stable or cowhouse to the left. There are pigsties located under a lean-to roof made of corrugated iron against the gable end. The barn has a large central door and two tiers of ventilation slits, along with a stable-type door at the northern end. The stable includes a stable door and a loft above, which is ventilated by a continuation of the upper range of slits. The pigsty appears to be an addition, consisting of two sties under the lean-to roof, each with an open run made of stone and equipped with a gate.
Inside the barn, there are three equal bays defined by timber-framed partitions resting on low stone sills, flanking a central threshing floor. The roof trusses support three tiers of purlins, and there is a gable window in the northern gable of the loft above the stable.
