Description
Cae-halen-bach is a single-storey building with a two-room layout, oriented roughly north-south, and featuring a loft above the right room. The exterior is made of limewashed, roughly coursed rubblestone and has a graded slate roof. The front of the building includes nine-pane horned sash windows with red ochre-painted frames and slate sills, positioned on either side of an offset boarded door. There are integral end stacks with slate drips, with the left stack being more substantial. A small 19th-century skylight is located just below the ridge, providing light to the crog-lofft above the right room. To the right gable end, there is a wash house that has a fixed-light window to the left of a boarded door, and a catslide outshut at the rear that extends to the back wall of the cottage. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey.
