Description

Pont Aberystwyth is a bridge that spans the River Rheidol at the southern end of the town. It features a triple broad segmental arch design, constructed from bull-nosed rubble with voussoirs and a band course. The bridge has pilasters over round-ended cutwaters, and the northern arch also spans the embankment. The pilasters are topped by cast iron lamp standards, which were cast by Williams and White Foundry in Aberystwyth, featuring dragons flanking a fluted stem, with modern lights. A rubble parapet wall extends to the south, reaching the level of No 1 Penparcau Road.
