Description

Pont Bodfel is a rubble stone bridge built on a broad curve over the wet valley bottom of the Afon Rhyd-hir. It features three segmental arches made of shaped rubble voussoirs, which are set below flush spandrels and a parapet. The cutwaters on both sides are angled back to the base of the parapet, which extends as a parapet with stone copings at both ends of the causeway. The main bridge spans approximately 5.85 meters and rises 2.5 meters above the river, providing a carriageway that is 4.75 meters wide, in addition to parapets that are 40 centimeters high.
