Description
Pont Rhyd-hir is a bridge featuring three segmental arches made of rubble voussoirs, which are set back under a regulating course from the flush spandrels and parapet. It is supported by two water piers, each with cutwaters on the upstream (north) side, angled back to the base of the parapet. The parapet is topped with flush set stones. The two main arches each span approximately 5.8 meters and rise 1.82 meters above the water, carrying a carriageway that is 4.4 meters wide, with parapets that are 40 centimeters thick. The bridge extends as a causeway on both sides, including a small flood arch, while the third arch no longer spans over water.
