Description

Rosemount is an earlier 19th century, two-storey, three-bay symmetrical house located on Friars Brae in Linlithgow. It is flanked by single-storey, two-bay service pavilions, with an advanced stair block at the centre of the rear. The building is constructed from cream stugged sandstone rubble with droved ashlar dressings, featuring base and eaves courses and raised margins on the north elevation.

The north (entrance) elevation showcases a central pilastered and corniced doorpiece that includes a frieze and cornice, a flush panelled door, and a decorated fanlight. The fenestration is regular on both the ground and first floors, while the recessed pavilions have irregularly placed windows in each bay.

The south (rear) elevation consists of three bays with regular fenestration, and a slapping to the far right. There is a door located on the far left and another on the right return of the stair block.

The windows throughout include 12-pane and 4-pane sash and case styles. The roof is piended with grey slate, featuring a rooflight to the rear and sandstone end stacks.

Inside, the property has a vestibule door, a single pile layout, and a winding stone stair.
