Description

South Gates at Candacraig House were designed by A G R Mackenzie around 1956. This impressive gateway is located to the west of Candacraig House. It features tall square-section piers made of squared rubble, which have broken pediment tops. The gateway is flanked by boundary walls and includes two-leaf ironwork gates. The gates display the Wallace family crest, which features an ostrich in full flight, and the Falconer family crest, depicting a demi-angel praying between two sprigs of laurel.
