Outer And Inner, South East Gates, Candacraig House Policies

The outer and inner gates at the southeast entrance to Candacraig House policies date from around 1960 and incorporate 19th century wrought iron panels. The outer gates feature a vehicular entrance with large square-section ashlar piers, each set on a deep base and adorned with carved panels along the shaft. The piers have a reduced flat cope, which likely supported a missing finial, and are complemented by elegant decorative wrought iron gates.

The inner gates serve as a pedestrian gateway, also with square-section ashlar piers on a deep base. These piers have a fielded shaft and a cushion cope. The eastern face of the inner piers showcases two fielded panels separated by a horizontal cast bronze panel that depicts a Bacchanalian scene. The inner gates consist of two leaves with decorative ironwork.
