Description
The entrance gates at Glanpaith, dating from the 19th century, feature a formal design with piers and gates. The entrance includes a pair of square piers made of coursed cut stone, topped with flat coping that is partially obscured by vegetation. The decorative entrance gates are crafted from wrought and cast iron, showcasing a lower section of dog-bars supported by wide strengthening arches. These arches are designed with an upturned shape above a downturned section, meeting at a central join that displays a double band of opposed semicircular patterns both above and below. Finials are positioned above the upper band between the vertical rails, as well as on the rails above the top bar, which is ramped up to the hanging stiles.
