Description
The entrance gatepiers and gates to Penoyre are a pair of large square gatepiers made of tooled stone, featuring plinths, moulded cornices, and square caps. These gatepiers frame a set of large wrought iron gates. The gates have top rails that curve down and then rise to the highest point at the meeting stile. Below, there are intersected semicircular strengthening bars and closely spaced dog-bars beneath the mid rail, each topped with spearheads. Additionally, there are smaller pedestrian gates that follow a similar design, with the top rail sweeping up to the highest point in the center, and smaller stone piers that resemble the main gatepiers.
