Description
The entrance gates and railings at Blaenwern are made of squared tooled sandstone. They feature gatepiers with plinths, flat caps, pyramid blocks above, and ball finials. Each side has quadrant curved low coped walls and railings, along with smaller end piers that are similar in design. The double iron gates have a top rail that ramps down to urn-topped meeting stiles, with ornate spearheads and a scrolled mid-rail that has spearheads above and dog-bars below. The curving walls are topped with stone coping and have simple low iron rails.
