The Knock, Inverey

The Knock in Inverey is a single storey and attic T-plan cottage built in the later 19th century. It is constructed from squared and snecked grey granite, featuring contrasting pink tooled granite dressings. The cottage has overhanging eaves adorned with decorative timber serpentine bargeboards. The principal southeast elevation is symmetrical with three bays and includes a steeply gabled porch topped with a ball finial at the apex. There are distinctive decorative gabled v-plan dormers in the attic and a flanking rear wing. To the west, there is a later single storey lean-to.

The ground floor predominantly features bipartite windows with 4-pane timber sash and case windows, although some have been replaced with timber. The dormers have 10-pane lying panes. The cottage has coped gable stacks and a steeply pitched grey slate roof.

Access to the interior was not possible during the site visit in December 2005.
