Description

The Linn of Dee Bridge, located on the Mar Lodge Estate, was designed by W Reid and is dated 1857. This large Gothic bridge features a single span that crosses the Linn of Dee gorge. It is constructed from squared and coursed pink granite, with bull-faced stone on the side piers. The bridge has a moulded and dentilled band course, a single wide pointed arch with moulded voussoirs, and flanking buttresses. The parapet is crenellated and steps up to a blank cartouche on the east elevation, while there is an inscription on the west side.
