Description
Derry Lodge is a single-storey and attic U-plan lodge built in the later 19th century. It is constructed from squared and coursed granite rubble. The main elevation, which faces east, is symmetrical and features three bays in Aberdeen bond. This includes a central door flanked by a pair of gabled dormers that break the eaves. The south gable has a canted bay window covered with fishscale slating, along with three additional gabled dormers. The west elevation has two gabled dormers, and there is a low projection at the south re-entrant angle. There are later lean-to additions on the west and north elevations of the courtyard.
At the time of the site visit in 2005, the windows were boarded, and the building had grey slate gable and ridge stacks. The interior was in poor condition but still retained some original timber work, including door surrounds, window frames, and skirting.
