Description

The Walled Garden at Belleisle Estate on Doonfoot Road in Ayr dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and coped rubble, featuring a rectangular plan that curves along the northwest elevation, covering an area of approximately 4200 square meters. There are entrances located on the northeast and southwest elevations. Roofless garden storage sheds are situated along the curved northwest elevation, and an aviary is attached to the southeast elevation. The southwest elevation includes brick, glazed, and timber additions. Paths arranged in a cross-plan divide the garden into four quarters.
