North Lodge, Bellisle Estate, Dooonfoot Road, Ayr

North Lodge, located on the Bellisle Estate along Doonfoot Road in Ayr, is a single-storey, two-bay estate cottage built in the later 19th century. The structure is made of squared and snecked sandstone.

The south elevation features steps leading to an advanced gabled entrance, which includes a kneelered gablet with a square plaque inside. There is a timber door at the entrance, and to the right, a kneelered gabled bay is present along with a stone-roofed canted bay that has a plaque at the gablehead.

On the west elevation, which faces Doonfoot Road, there is a shallow advanced two-light window set within a gabled bay, topped with a crenellated parapet. An arrowslit opening is located at the gablehead. To the left, there is a single narrow window in the return of a recessed gabled bay, and to the right, a narrow opening leads to the entrance porch.

The north and east elevations were not visible in 1999. The cottage has modern glazing, a slate roof with gablehead and pitch stacks, and circular cans. It also features cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interior was not seen in 1999.

Surrounding the property are square-plan stone gatepiers, with two-leaf and single iron gates. There is a coped convex wing wall topped with iron railings.
