Description
This building, located at 32 Main Street in Temple, is a single-storey, four-bay cottage dating from the later 19th century. It is constructed from tooled, coursed sandstone and features tooled long and short dressings, as well as long and short quoins.
The northeast elevation, which serves as the entrance, is asymmetrical. It has a two-leaf panelled timber door positioned in the penultimate bay to the right, with a window in each of the flanking bays. There is a modern garage door in the outer left bay, which has a concrete lintel.
The northwest elevation is blank, while the southwest elevation was not visible during the 1998 inspection. The southeast elevation is obscured by the adjoining cottage at No 34 Main Street, which is listed separately.
The cottage features 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with a lead ridge, stone skews, and a coursed, coped gablehead stack with a circular can. The interior was not seen during the 1998 inspection.
