Description
31 Main Street in Temple is a traditional cottage dating from the later 18th century. It is a single-storey building with a rectangular plan and three bays, constructed from tooled coursed sandstone with droved dressings and features a base course.
The west elevation is symmetrical, with a central doorway that has a boarded timber door featuring a glazed panel, accessed by two steps. There are windows in the flanking bays.
The south and north elevations are obscured by adjoining cottages, and the east elevation was not visible in 1998.
The cottage has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with a lead ridge, and cast iron rainwater goods. The interior was not seen in 1998.
