Description

1869, altered JA Morris, 1906. 2-storey, 5-bay asymmetrical-plan detached classical house with 3-stage tower. Ashlar. Deep base course; 1st floor cill course; eaves course; cornice. Architraved 1st floor windows.

NW (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: steps to advanced, central, Corinthian pilastered doorpiece; 2-leaf timber door; letterbox fanlight; bipartite window to left (pilaster and entablature divide with fanlight); cornice and blocking course; single window at 1st floor; Single windows at 1st and 2nd stages of square-plan tower to outer left; bipartite window at 3rd stage with central pilaster; mutuled eaves course. 2 pairs of bipartite windows to right at ground floor (pilaster and entablature divide to window to left with fanlight, pilaster divide to window to right); single windows aligned above at 1st floor.

SW, SE AND NE ELEVATION: not seen 1999.

Predominantly plate glass and 4-pane timber sash and case windows. Low-pitched, piended slate roof; coped wallhead stacks; decorative Egyptian circular cans. Cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen 1999.

FORMER STABLE, GATEPIERS AND BOUNDARY WALL: former stables to rear of property; square-plan coped gatepiers; coped rubble boundary wall enclosing site.
