11/48 Hartley Fold House 12.9.57 with area railings, adjoining cottage and stables (formerly listed as Hartley Fold with adjoining outbuilding)

House, late C18; cottage and stables adjoining north end dated 1776 on door lintel. House wet-dashed with rusticated quoins; cottage and stables of snecked rubble. Graduated slate roofs (house higher) with stone copings and kneelers; brick chimneys. Symmetrical 2-storey, 3-bay house front has central panelled door and traceried fanlight in Tuscan doorcase with bracketed semicircular canopy; sashes, all in architraves. Low area walls are rendered with chamfered copings; gate and end piers are square in plan with pyramidal caps. Wrought-iron railings have pointed standards. 2-storey, 3-bay cottage has central plank door in stop- chamfered surround; triple sash to left, single sash to right and 3 above, all in stone surrounds. Original wide stable door now part-blocked; small hay-loft access to 1st floor right. Barn range adjoining to north of stables not included.
