Description
Murton Holme is a house and former cottage that has been combined into one dwelling. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century, and may have an older core. The building is constructed from coursed, squared rubble with hammer-dressed quoins on a plinth. It features a graduated slate roof with an outshut at the rear and a projecting stone chimney located at the front, positioned between the house and the cottage. The structure is two storeys high, with the three-bay house on the left being symmetrical and featuring a central part-glazed door in a doorcase. The single bay former cottage is located to the right. The windows include 16-pane sashes set in stone surrounds, and there is a two-light mullioned window on the north return.
