59 Castlehill Road, Ayr

This is a single-storey cottage located at 59 Castlehill Road in Ayr, built in the later 19th century. The cottage is constructed from sandstone rubble, which is squared on the entrance elevation. It features strip margins and square-headed margins around the openings.

On the southwest (entrance) elevation, there is a central entrance with a glazed timber door and a letterbox fanlight above it, flanked by single windows. The southeast elevation has a gabled design with a window that is off-centre to the left on the first floor. The northeast and northwest elevations were not visible in 1999.

The cottage has 16-pane timber sash and case windows, a slate roof, stone skews, coped gablehead stacks, and circular cans. It also features cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interior was not seen in 1999. Additionally, there are iron gatepiers at the vehicular entrance to the outer right and a central pedestrian entrance, along with an iron central gate and a low coped boundary wall at the entrance elevation.
