Walnut Cottage, 14 Monifieth Road, Broughty Ferry, Dundee

Walnut Cottage is a later 19th-century single-storey cottage located at 14 Monifieth Road in Broughty Ferry, Dundee. It has a rectangular plan and features three bays, with projections at the rear. The front is constructed of stugged and snecked rubble, while the sides are made of random rubble, and it has ashlar dressings and a slate roof. The windows are margined with 4-pane sash and case glazing, and the roof has coped skews with skew blocks and coped stacks.

On the north elevation, there is a panelled door at the center with a fanlight above it, framed by a painted doorcase that is droved and chamfered, topped with a shallow pedimental lintel. To the right of the door is a brass bell-pull, with windows on both the left and right sides, and a rooflight above. The west gable has three blocked windows, while the east gable is blank. The south elevation has not been properly inspected.

The interior of the cottage has not been inspected. The property also features two sets of painted curvilinear-headed gateposts, with one set on the west being taller. There is a stugged and snecked rubble wall to the north and east with painted saddleback coping, although the railings have been removed. The west side has a rubble wall with rounded rubble coping.
