Description
This building is a single-storey, four-bay cottage from the earlier 19th century, situated on a steeply sloping site with a basement at the northern end. It is constructed from roughly coursed sandstone rubble, featuring droved ashlar quoins and window dressings. The central entrance consists of a timber panelled door, flanked by windows, with a bipartite window to the left. To the right, there is a short section with higher skews but maintaining the same ridge height, which includes a blocked doorway and window on the outer right. The northern gable has a timber panelled door and a small window at the basement level.
The cottage has 12-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows, with gable-head stacks that have ashlar copes and yellow clay cans. The skews are also ashlar-coped, and the roof is covered with graded grey slate.
Surrounding the property are coped random rubble boundary walls that enclose the garden, along with a later cast-iron gate and railings above the wall to the north.
