Bongate Cottage, Bongate, Jedburgh

Bongate Cottage is an earlier 19th-century single-storey and attic cottage located in a garden in Bongate, Jedburgh. The building is constructed of cream sandstone rubble with stugged ashlar dressings and cills.

The southeast elevation features a deep-set corniced door at the center, flanked by single windows. The southwest elevation has a single window to the right. The northeast elevation mirrors this with a single window and includes a 2-pane box dormer.

The cottage has 12-pane timber sash and case windows and a piended roof covered with grey slates. There are two rubble ridge stacks with coping.

The gates and gatepiers consist of square ashlar piers with a string course below the coping stone. The timber gate is divided in a 2:1 ratio and is panelled with two tiers of blind arcading.
