Description

5 Bridge Street in Jedburgh is an 1817 two-storey and attic house with three bays. The building is harled, although the harling was removed from the front in 1992, revealing coursed rubble beneath, with painted ashlar margins and cills.

On the north elevation facing the street, the house features a regular arrangement of windows with a central door that has a rectangular fanlight above. The south elevation, which overlooks the garden, has three storeys and an attic with a lower level. It includes a six-pane glazed door at the center, a window to the left, both with small square windows above, and newly inserted 20-pane French windows to the right. The rest of this elevation is blank, but there are three skylights in the roof.

The east elevation is gabled and blank at ground level, with a single window on both upper floors to the far left and a window in the gablehead to the right, along with a gablehead stack. The west elevation is also blank, featuring a gablehead window to the left and another gablehead stack.

The windows throughout are four-pane timber sash and case style, and the roof is covered with grey slates and has coped skews.
