Description
St Dunstan's Villa, located on High Street in Melrose, dates from around 1830 and features modern additions to the east. Originally, it was a two-storey, three-bay villa with an ashlar front and polished dressings. The advanced central bay has a door at the ground level, which is framed by cavetto reveals and topped with a bracketed cornice and a blocking course. The front has broad angle margins at both ends, with a cornice and a block pediment above the central bay. The villa has a piended slated roof that extends to the east over a modern two-storey, single-bay extension, which has rendered details designed to match the original structure. There is a brick and stone stack on the west side.
