Description

Mrs Turnbull is a late 18th century house that was remodelled or rebuilt in 1902. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure that is part of a terrace. The building is constructed of coursed cream sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. It features a base course, raised and tabbed window surrounds, and cornices with decorative carving above the ground floor openings. The first-floor windows break the eaves and there are quoin strips at the corners.

On the southeast (entrance) elevation, there is a central doorway with a stop-chamfered surround and a panelled door. Above the door, a round-arched hoodmoulded stair window breaks the eaves, set in a shaped gable topped with a stone obelisk finial. A date panel reading "1902" is located in the gablehead. There are single windows in the outer left and right bays, each with pedimented dormerheads.

The sash and case windows have plate glass glazing, while the stair window features pointed-arch Y-traceried border glazing. The roof is covered with grey slate and has decorative terracotta ridging. There are brick ridge stacks on the northeast and southwest sides, with moulded octagonal cans and decorative urn finials on the skewputts. The original rainwater goods from 1902, including hoppers and decorative downpipe brackets, are still in place.
