Description

The Grange is a late 18th-century house with alterations from the early 19th century. Constructed of dressed sandstone with chiselled sandstone dressings, it has a slate roof and brick stacks. The house follows a central-entry plan complemented by parallel service wings to the rear. The front facade presents as 2 storeys and 3 bays. A central 6-panel door, complete with an overlight, is flanked by 16-pane sashes. The first floor features unequal 12-pane sashes, with a blocked opening centrally positioned. Stone sills are present on all windows, and flat arches feature above all openings. A stepped eaves course is visible, along with end stacks. A tripartite sash window is present on the left gable at ground level. All openings are finished with wedge lintels.
