Description
Rosedale House is a late 18th-century house, remodelled in 1857 as indicated by a datestone. It is whitewashed to the front, with herringbone-tooled quoins; sandstone rubble is used on the sides and rear, topped with a slate roof and brick stacks. The house follows a central-staircase plan with rear service wings.
The front facade is two storeys high and three bays wide. The central entrance features a four-panel door beneath a divided overlight in a raised surround, which is adorned with a keyblock carved as a head. The ground floor has 20-pane sash windows in keyed raised surrounds. Similar sash windows with triple keyblocks are situated on the first floor, flanking a recessed date panel. This panel is set within a round-arched surround with imposts and a keyblock carved as a head. A stepped eaves course runs along the top of the facade, and the gables are coped, with end stacks present.
