Description
The stables at St Cuthbert's House on St Mary's Road in Melrose were built around 1807. This single-storey structure features a symmetrical classical design, with the central bay being slightly advanced and topped with a pediment. The pediment includes a segmental arched coach-house doorway and a blind oculus. The right-hand range contains stables, which have a wallhead dormer that provides access to the loft above. The left-hand range has been converted into a cottage, featuring a bipartite window in the center and a gabled bipartite dormer above it.
