Description
Abbey House, located on Abbey Street in Melrose, is a building from the later 18th century. It is a two-storey structure with three bays, featuring a later extension to the west that is also two storeys high and has two closely spaced bays. The exterior is finished with harled ashlar and has chamfered margins around the windows. The south front showcases a Tuscan pilastered entrance doorway at the centre of the three-bay block. The building includes two roof-lights in the attic, straight skews, and a slated roof, along with rectangular harled mid and end stacks that have block cornices.
