Description
The stables at Edenside, located on Edenside Road in Kelso, date from the late 18th century and feature a north-facing range with a rectangular courtyard behind. The building is two stories high with a five-bay front. The center bay is slightly advanced and has a blind key-blocked round-headed arch that extends through both stories, which originally had a pediment above it. The outer bays contain rectangular openings at the ground level and square openings beneath the eaves. The gables are harled with straight skews, and there are rectangular mid and end stacks. The roof is modern and tiled. The gatepiers date from the early 19th century and consist of a pair of octagonal ashlar piers connected by serpentine walls to rectangular terminal piers.
