Edenside, Edenside Road, Kelso

Edenside is a late 18th century classical villa that features additions made in 1932. The south-east elevation is two stories high, with an attic and basement, and consists of three bays. The entrance has a doorpiece supported by attached Tuscan columns and coved reveals. On either side of the entrance are screen walls, each containing one blind round-headed opening, flanking an advanced central bay that has a pediment and a blind Venetian window.

The front of the villa is made of coursed squared rubble with polished dressings, and it has a moulded eaves course and straight skews. The roof is slated and includes two segmental-headed attic dormers. The flanks of the building are sneck-harled and feature rectangular coped end stacks. The 1932 addition at the rear is a two-story attic and basement wing that projects from the back, forming an L shape, and has a bowed end to the west.
