Description
31 Castle Street in Duns is an early 19th century terraced house, likely incorporating some older materials. It is a two-storey building with an attic and features three bays. The exterior is made of harled rubble sandstone with ashlar margins. A modern panelled door is located at the center, with a window next to it on the right. There is a larger window in the right bay at ground level and a segmental-headed dormer on the right side. The rear elevation includes a projecting bowed staircase tower. The windows are timber sash and case, with four and sixteen panes on the ground floor and twelve panes above. The roof has brick stacks, grey slates, and ashlar coped skews.
