Description
45 Castle Street in Duns is an early 19th-century terraced house that likely includes some older materials. It is a two-storey building with an attic and features three bays. The exterior is pebble-dashed rubble with ashlar margins. The central entrance has a panelled door topped by a 5-pane letterbox fanlight. The ground floor windows are bipartite with timber mullions, while the first-floor windows are positioned close to the eaves. There is a piend-roofed dormer on the right and a swept-roofed dormer on the left. The house has timber sash and case windows, with 4-pane windows on the ground floor and plate glass above. The roof is covered with grey slates and has ashlar coped skews, with modern brick stacks located to the south. The rear elevation was not visible in 1994.
