Description
35 Castle Street in Duns is an earlier 19th-century terraced house, likely incorporating older materials. It is two stories high with an attic and has three bays. The building is constructed of rubble sandstone, with the front pebble-dashed and the rear harled, featuring ashlar cills. The entrance door is centrally located and includes a letterbox fanlight, while the ground floor windows are slightly displaced. There are two piend-roofed dormers on the roof, and the rear elevation has a two-bay projection at the ground level.
The windows are timber sash and case, with plate glass on the ground floor and 12-pane windows on the first floor. The house has early red brick chimney stacks, grey slate roofing, and ashlar coped skews.
