Rydale, 8 Springhill Road, Peebles

Rydale, located at 8 Springhill Road in Peebles, is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay symmetrical house. It features a single-storey wing to the east and a semi-circular stairwell at the rear. The exterior is constructed from whinstone rubble, harled with painted margins, and has shaped aprons beneath the first-floor windows.

On the south (front) elevation, there is a corniced doorway at the center, with regular fenestration and a Velux window in the roof. The north (rear) elevation showcases the semi-circular stairwell at the center, along with lean-to additions at the ground floor.

The house has plate glass sash and case windows and a slate roof, with apex stacks that include thackstanes. The east wing features a shouldered brick-built apex stack.

The interior was not seen in 1994. A low whinstone rubble boundary wall with semi-circular coping encloses the front of the property.
