Sanctuary House, 8 Stanely Road, Paisley

Sanctuary House, located at 8 Stanley Road in Paisley, is a B-listed building designed by architect T G Abercrombie in 1891, with later additions. This Arts and Craft style house features a single storey and attic in an L-plan layout, characterized by asymmetrical gabled elevations. The exterior is constructed of snecked stugged ashlar with polished dressings, and some harl is present on the south elevation.

The house showcases a variety of windows, including a mullioned and transomed window that curves across the re-entrant angle and a similar one positioned centrally on the garden fronts. A swept gable descends to the north side. The Scots Renaissance porch is notable for its parapet and copper dome. An extended east wing culminates in a tile-hung gable that includes variants of "Sparrowes House" windows.

Additionally, there is an octagonal conservatory with ashlar lower courses and wooden colonnettes at the angles, topped with a curved facetted roof featuring a concave cupola. The entrance is marked by ashlar gate piers with bronze nameplates reading "Roneil" and convex screen walls.
