Description
Middlepark, located at 7 and 7G Stanley Road in Paisley, is a house designed by architect John Hutchison in 1891, featuring Free Renaissance detail. This two-storey house includes a single-storey and attic block at the rear.
The exterior is constructed of snecked bull-nosed rubble with ashlar dressings. Most of the windows are mullioned and transomed. The entrance front showcases an advanced gabled centre bay, which has a semi-circular pediment above the first-floor window. To the right, there is a drum turret with pilastered sashes on the first floor, an eaves cornice, and a conical slated cap. To the left of the centre, a gable sweeps down to the ground floor, featuring a wide moulded round-headed arch porch with a retaining wall to the right, a window, and a double-leaf panelled door to the left. The door is topped with a lunette glazed window containing small panes.
On the garden front, there are two gables, with a single-storey canted window on the right. The roof is made of green slate, adorned with bargeboarded gables, crest tiles, and corniced stacks. The simpler single-storey block features sash windows and a piended slate roof with crest tiles, as well as a swept dormer. Additionally, there are octagonal ashlar gatepiers connected by curved snecked rubble walls to square ashlar piers.
