Description
The Pavilion, located at 68 Falside Road in Paisley, is a detached recreational institute built around 1909. This two-storey building with an attic and a basement sits on sloping ground to the north. Designed in the English Arts and Crafts style, it features a white harled exterior with exposed red sandstone ashlar dressings. The gables are half-timbered and barge boarded, while the roofs are covered with red tiles that have swept timber-bracketed overhanging eaves, along with red clay ridge tiles and finials. The windows are multi-paned, predominantly with six panes fixed below and four-pane top hoppers.
The entrance elevation consists of three bays, with a continuous ground floor cill band that extends across the two left-hand bays, which are two-storey, and the projecting gabled right-hand bay that includes an additional basement floor. The elevation also features a full-height polygonal angle.
