Description

Probably earlier and mid 19th century. Large, rectangular-plan walled garden with centre dividing wall.

N AND NE WALLS: flat ashlar-coped red brick with pedestrian door to centre N.

S, SE AND SW WALLS: coped rubble.

NW WALL: flat ashlar-coped rubble with droved ashlar margins to pedestrian entrance.

E-W DIVIDING WALL: flat ashlar-coped rubble.

GATEPIERS: sited to centre of W wall. Flat-coped square-section ashlar gatepiers with base of finial to S pier and obelisk finial (fallen to ground) to N pier.

ANCILLARY BUILDINGS: small rectangular-plan slated rubble 2-storey ancillary (apple house?) to N of centre of W wall. Gablehead stack and weathervane finial to S, small gablehead opening to N and window (converted from door) to E. Graded grey slates.

Semi-derelict lean-to ancillary to S of dividing wall. Flat-coped rubble screen wall (former greenhouse wall?) with ashlar dressings, lean-to rubble structure to N with small gothic-arched windows and remains of delicate decorative astragals to E, NE and NW: interior with stone fireplace.
