Description
Inchcoonans Tile Works, built in 1950, features two single chamber, downdraught beehive kilns and two tapering square-section stacks, constructed from brick and steel.
The kilns have a circular brick base with wickets leading to sectioned steel walls. They include a narrow bracketed steel platform with a railing and a domed brick roof that has a diameter of 20 feet. The doors are located to the southwest, with the eastern door (leading to the museum) featuring a round-headed brick doorpiece and a timber door. The western door retains some fireboxes.
The stacks are tapering square-section structures with metal bands, and the western stack has a corbelled cope.
