Description
South Lodge, located at Errol Park, is an early 19th-century single-storey, four-bay gothic lodge house featuring a bowed gable at the south end. The exterior is harled with painted stone margins.
The entrance elevation includes a deep-set part-glazed timber door with a letterbox fanlight in the left bay, accompanied by a later bipartite window immediately to the right. The outer bays have pointed arch windows, with the right window having altered glazing.
On the south elevation facing the road, there is a single bowed bay with a pointed-arch window. The north elevation features a central door flanked by two windows on each side. The west elevation has a blank piended bay on the left and a door leading to a recessed piended bay on the right.
The windows generally have a 4-pane glazing pattern in fixed timber pointed-arch designs, while the bipartite window has plate glass glazing in a timber sash and case style, with modern glazing present elsewhere. The roof is covered with grey slates and features four pairs of tall and squat octagonal stacks with some polygonal cans, along with a later brick stack.
The gatepiers are flat-coped, square-section, and fielded in ashlar stone.
