Description
The Walled Garden at Errol Park dates from the earlier to mid 19th century and features a rectangular plan. It is located next to the Errol Park Stables, which are listed separately. The garden is constructed from flat-coped red brick in a banded bond and includes segmental-headed pedestrian openings.
The entrance is marked by two-leaf ironwork gates that are flanked by square-section ashlar gatepiers topped with ball finials. The lower walls on either side have inset railings and paired finials that connect to a swept section leading to a high wall.
There are also ancillary buildings associated with the garden. The eastern range is a single-storey, four-bay structure made of red brick with a slated roof, featuring lower bays to the east and a tall polychrome stack. The western range, dating from the late 19th century, is also single-storey and constructed from polychrome brick with a slate roof. It includes traditional rooflights, a ridge ventilator, overhanging eaves, plain bargeboarding, and a timber gablehead brace. The doors are boarded timber, and the top-hopper windows have a small-pane glazing pattern.
