Rosebank Cottage, The Knapp

Rosebank Cottage, located at The Knapp, is a late 19th-century L-plan cottage featuring a single storey and an attic at the rear. The exterior is constructed of dark rubble with stugged and margined red sandstone dressings, topped with a purple and grey slate roof. It has 4-pane sash and case windows, bracketted eaves, and plain bargeboards with rounded ends. The ridge stacks are corniced and shouldered, although they have been rebuilt in brick at the west gable.

On the southeast elevation, there is a glazed door at the center that is out of character with the rest of the building, accompanied by a 2-pane fanlight and a chamfered doorcase. Above, there is a gable dormerhead featuring an exposed truss and a decorative cast-iron finial, with windows on either side. The east and west gables are blank.

The northeast elevation includes a window at the center, with a gable that advances to the right, featuring a window in the attic and a door and window on the right return.

The interior has not been inspected. Additionally, there is a single-storey, square-plan outbuilding with a pyramidal roof that matches the style of the cottage.
