New Mill Of Knapp

New Mill of Knapp is an 18th and early 19th century L-plan complex of mill buildings situated on steeply sloping ground, featuring a semi-circular kiln at its center. The buildings are constructed from rubble with stugged red ashlar dressings on the northern block and ashlar dressings on the southeastern block, topped with a grey slate roof.

On the west elevation, there is a block to the left with a window on the ground floor to the right and two windows on the principal floor. The semi-circular kiln bay steps down to the right and has one small window. Further to the right, there is another block that is mostly roofless and overgrown.

The east elevation features a block on the right with a door on the ground floor to the left and two windows on the principal floor. The semi-circular kiln bay steps down to the left, where there is a door and a small opening at eaves level. Stairs extend from the kiln to the top of the block on the right. To the far left, there is another block with various openings, and an advanced block on the outer left has a door on the ground floor, a return gable with a door and window, and a large opening on the first floor.

The south elevation displays various openings, while the north gable has an enlarged opening that serves as a garage door.

Inside, there is a kiln fireplace and floor, along with some machinery. Additionally, there is a single-storey storage shed to the east, made of rubble masonry and covered with a slate roof.
