Th Eold Schoolhouse, Parkview Terrace, The Knapp

The Old Schoolhouse, located on Parkview Terrace at The Knapp, is a former school and schoolhouse built in the later 19th century. This single-storey and attic structure is designed in an L-plan. The exterior features shuttered concrete that is lined to resemble ashlar, with margined angles and a slate roof. It has a mix of single and paired windows, some of which retain their original lattice-paned glazing, while others have modern top-hopper plate glass. The windows are framed with lugged concrete margins and shallowly pointed lintels. The building also has bracketed eaves, plain bargeboards, and two brick ridge stacks along with one rendered stack.

On the west elevation, there is a door to the left flanked by narrow windows, with an additional window to the left and a bipartite window to the right. The gable on the right is advanced, featuring a lattice-paned window on the left and another in the attic, along with a flat-roofed addition to the right. The south elevation has a lattice-paned window on the left and a bipartite window to the right, with an addition at the far left.

The east elevation consists of three bays on the right, featuring a modern multi-pane door with a fanlight in the centre, a bipartite window to the left, and another bipartite window to the right, with lattice-paned glazing at the top and a gable dormerhead. The gable on the left has two windows on the ground floor and a small window in the attic. The north gable has a lean-to. The interior was not seen.
