Description

The Old School House, now a dwelling, is a former school building dating from the early 19th century. It features dressed stone walls and a slate roof with stone gable copings and level kneelers. The building has been fitted with renewed 20th-century brick stacks. It stands two storeys tall and has three windows on the ground floor, with square bay windows on either side of the central door. The ground floor windows have stone bases, wooden cills, and glazing bars for the fixed windows, topped with a moulded wooden cornice. Above, there are three cast-iron two-light casement windows with marginal glazing bars. The front doorway is centrally located and has an elliptical head, featuring a panelled door with two top lights, dating from the 19th century. Additionally, there is a front stone sleeper wall with iron railings.
