Description
The Old School House and The Old School, dated 1863, were originally a school house and an attached school, and are now two private dwellings. The buildings feature brick walls in Flemish bond with alternating stone quoins and clay tile roofs. The School House has a gabled front with a porch that includes a segmental headed doorway and a plank door. It also has a gabled bay with a canted bay window made up of three light hollow chamfered stone mullions, along with one on each return. The windows have cast iron casements with three-centred heads. On the first floor, there is a two-light mullion window with cast iron casements and a separate label above. The attached School, which was originally a single storey, now has 20th-century dormers and is two windows wide, featuring three light hollow chamfered stone mullions with separate labels above. The two dormers consist of three lights each, with casements that attempt to match the 19th-century style. At the south end, there is a gabled porch with a segmental doorway and a 20th-century glazed door, along with a date stone reading 1863 above.
